Baby’s day out

My mom wanted to go to Parkway Parade & offered for me (and Adam too, of course) to come along. I agreed immediately! (which led Mak to say “Ibu terlepas kandang“, tsk tsk, so bad). We didn’t have a pram, and we haven’t got a carrier too, so mak used a long & wide pashmina, [...]

Free, but not so easy

There is an interesting, yet sad article in ST today.

In countries where people don’t get a chance to be highly educated, it’s no wonder people are being misled by wrong information. In this case, these poor people believe formula-fed babies will become smarter, nevermind they have to spend SGD$60 out of their monthly SGD$300 income [...]

The longest 10 minutes of my life

Alhamdulillah, Adam has undergone his sunat this morning.
For the past few days, especially yesterday, I’ve been preparing myself mentally for the procedure and I think it has helped a lot. I looked, but at the same time, closed my eyes during the procedure… for my own mental health reasons. Adam’s dad was brave enough to [...]

There’s something about Adam

For the past 3 days, Adam has been waking up once every 2 – 3 hourly for his night feeds. Phew! Alhamdulillah. More sleep for ibu; can dream some more!
I actually had several dreams last night, but I remembered 1 dream most – Adam’s sunat. Budak tu belum pon kena sunat, aku dah termimpi-mimpi. I [...]

Adam hates needles

Adam had his 2nd dose of hep b jab last week. He went…”Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!” That stopped when we comforted him, but the whole afternoon, night, and the following morning, Adam was really cranky. We totally missed the “happy” Adam. Terperanjat agaknya budak tu…poor little Adam. Tapi alhamdulillah he’s back to his cheerful, fuss-free self now.
Maybe that [...]

AH’s first father’s day

Ayah & Adam, the sleepy turtle
He may not have carried Adam for 9 months in the womb, but he had nausea & headaches during the early stage of pregnancy, something I didn’t get.
He may not have given birth to Adam, but I know he can almost feel the pain I felt. I saw his face [...]

Baby in a hat

Adam, in cousin Reza’s songkok!
Putting on a hat /cap / songkok on Adam has only been possible twice. Once, during his discharge from hospital. The cap was a set from his receiving blanket. He was too young to say “No” although the cap was too big for his head size then.
The other time putting a songkok on [...]

What’s up, doc?

Adam visited our family doc today. That makes him the 4th generation to patronise the clinic!
Adam’s dad was getting worried about Adam’s mild nappy rash & obviously wasn’t convinced by Adam’s mom attempts to reassure him that Adam’s nappy rash has subsided A LOT! So the trio trotted down there.
We got a cream that the [...]

Breastfeeding fun?!

Adam turns 4 weeks today, alhamdulillah. This also means, I’ve been breastfeeding him for the same length of time. My experience so far?
I feel a sense of attachment to Adam when he feeds. I also feel so sayu when he feeds – he’s dependent on me & when he suckles, macam lapar betul gitu.
I grow more [...]

Telon time!

Bathing may not exactly be Adam’s favourite activity (lung exercise for him) but the minyak telon massage that follows his bath is definitely something he looks forward to.

Having his back rubbed with minyak telon

Ummm…bliss

Dressed & all ready for playtime now!
