Mondays are never good to visit a clinic. I was like 8th in queue and the doctor would only come in at 10!
After the errands, I returned to the clinic and waited for another 30 minutes or so.
Adam’s little sibling is now 12 weeks 4 days, and I was so relieved to hear “its” heartbeat, loud and clear. I asked Doc about the pain in the butt (literally!) I’ve been getting, and he said that was pretty normal during pregnancy. The remedy? Smaller steps and more rest. They packed me with a bunch of DHA, calcium & obimin pills to last me for a month (but looking at the rate I’m taking my supplements, they might last throughout this pregnancy).
The EDD? It keeps changing. First it was early Jan 2010. Doc said if I wished to do a countdown, I could let him know so he could book the labour ward….the joker that he is. Anyway now the EDD is the last day of 2009.
I met Adam & his Nen at a pre-school nearby after that. It was my ex-Ustazah (teacher) who ran the school. At first we wanted to enrol him in H montessori, but after second thoughts, I settled for this one. It’s nearby (I joked that Adam could even walk to school – he’d just hafta cross the street at the traffic lights carefully while we waved from the balcony) and we wouldnt need petrol to get him there & back. The school seemed decent enough – it is just to expose him to early learning and socialising, so insya-Allah that’s enough for me. Seriously, it sounds ridiculous paying $240 monthly for a 2 yr old kid to attend a playgroup session. In the event this doesn’t work out, maybe I’ll explore that one, and yes, eat my own words, heh.
I had a craving for something I’d not normally even think about – siput sedut. Yucks or what? haha! Hjh Maimunah was closed on mondays so we found some @ Hajah Mona – sans the Mai. It was good, although now I’m left with a funny taste in my mouth.
So there, yes it’s out. A little bun *is* baking in the oven and I’m hoping this will be a smooth pregnancy, and that I can still make it to work in 1 piece, or without slumping on my desk due to sheer fatigue. Wish me all the best! And of course, Alhamdulillah for this blessing
